26 Gallon Trash Can May 29, 2006

I am a 26 gallon trash can.

Passivated aluminum, few feet tall, taking your unwanted emissions.

I’m shrouded in a protective cage.

Labelled with class, of your unwanted items that I’m willing to take.

I dot the edges of your streets.

Filled with yours, nonetheless, I’m considered the leftovers of society.

I am a source of nourishment for many.

Feeding your homeless, who you’ve rejected, scraps of little things sometimes sweet.
