Non-ugly GridLines in Mathematica July 2, 2006

Non-ugly GridLines in Mathematica 5:  GridLines -> {{Automatic, {GrayLevel[0.7]}}, {Automatic, {GrayLevel[0.7]}}} derived from this thread. I had been using custom GridLines for a while, but being able to just change the color of the fugly default is a relief.

In Mathematica 6, I use, e.g., GridLines -> Automatic, GridLinesStyle ->
Directive[LightGray, Dashed],
